Black Ops Cold War revamps Create-A-Class and Scorestreaks
While there’s been a hefty amount of leaks leading up to today, we now have a ton of official information on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The worldwide multiplayer reveal stream unveiled a ton of details on the multiplayer mode. From weapons to maps to Scorestreaks, there’s quite a bit to unpack from the reveal. Earlier today, we went over the weapons, maps, and modes of multiplayer, so check that out if you haven’t already (LINK). In this article, we’ll be going over the Black Ops Cold War Create-A-Class and Scorestreaks systems.
Black Ops Cold War Create-A-Class details
In the new iteration of the Call of Duty franchise, Create-A-Class is, of course, coming back. A staple of the series, this is how players customize their weapons, perks, and equipment. However, each developer tries to change the formula up a little bit every year. Treyarch is no different.
Although, the system will be familiar to long-time players. You’re automatically given one primary weapon, one secondary, three perks, and one piece of lethal and tactical equipment. However, there are also Wildcards that mess with that formula just a tad. Here are the more in-depth details of Create-A-Class.
- Perk 1:
- Tactical Mask
- Flak Jacket
- Perk 2:
- Perk 3:
- Cold Blooded
- Proximity Mine
- Sam Turret
- Field Mic
- Smoke Grenade
- Stun Grenade
These perks should look familiar to fans. Ninja is Dead Silence for those wondering, which is a great sight to see. The Gunsmith is also back for fans curious about the Modern Warfare system. However, it won’t be as extensive in Black Ops Cold War.

Scorestreaks revamped in multiplayer
One of the biggest surprises from the reveal trailer was the new Scorestreaks system. In Black Ops Cold War, scorestreaks no longer reset upon death. This means you can die and keep your streak alive. However, the longer you stay alive, the more points you earn from kills toward your next streak. This is balanced out by having the bigger streaks cost a lot more than in years past.
BOCW features an open beta on October 8 and will release globally on November 13.
