G2 Esports reportedly asking Cloud9 $5 million for Perkz

Recently, we have talked about many rumors concerning players, teams, and roster movements in general, and one of the firsts rumors suggested that Luka ‘Perkz‘ Perkovic would not continue with G2 Esports for 2021.

From that moment, many teams have been said to be the candidates for taking him, but while the Croatian player keeps writing jokes on his Twitter account, some interesting news starts showing.

According to the renowned Esports journalist Jacob Wolf, both G2 Esports and the player have been approaching six different teams in the past two weeks in order to sell Perkz.

The holdup remains Perkz’s buyout, which G2 have told several teams is just shy of $5 million, according to sources.

If Cloud9 and G2 can come to terms, Perkz would reunite with @Zven, his former teammate. The duo won three EU LCS titles from 2016-17.

Apparently, Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves, Team SoloMid, Team Vitality, and Misfits are interested in the purchase, but the player seems to prefer Cloud9 as his new team.

As we can deduce from Jacob Wolf’s tweets, the North American team and Perkz have been negotiating, and Cloud9 could have even offered a salary, but there is one obstacle: according to sources, Perkz’s buyout is shy of $5.000.000.

G2 Esports is asking for that insane amount of money because Perkz’s contract doesn’t expire until 2022. It is impossible to know whether Cloud9 is willing to accept the deal, but it is not the first time that the American organization makes disproportionately expensive purchases.

The first rumors about Perkz said that he would like to be a mid-laner again, and it is well known that Cloud9 (as the entire LCS) is looking for more powerful rosters.

In the meantime, the player keeps joking but shows nothing else.
