League of Legends: Sneaky Departs Cloud9 LoL Roster to Focus on Streaming

Cloud9 ADC Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi has announced he will be departing the team’s roster.

Long-serving Cloud9 ADC Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi won’t be returning to the LCS in 2020. After being with the organization since 2013, Sneaky will continue to be a part of Cloud9 in an advisor and owner role. Sneaky says he’ll be spending the near future focusing on his streaming career.

After Cloud9 signed Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen from TSM this offseason, doubt was placed over the future of Sneaky’s in the Cloud9 roster, with some speculation that he might be used as a sub or play in the Academy roster. It all felt a little ‘weird’ for Cloud9 fans. However, the idea of one of the team’s longest-serving players not only not being with the starting roster but relegated to a sub or Academy role.

With a streaming and cosplay career in full swing in the past few years, Sneaky always had a way out, so to speak. While it’s a shame to see such a legend of the LCS not on stage in 2020 maybe with a year out Sneaky will sign for a new team.

Seven Years with Cloud9

Jack Etienne, Cloud9 CEO & Owner had this to say about Sneaky’s departure: “Working the last seven years with Sneaky to build what Cloud9 has become was an incredible experience for me. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him as a player and I’m excited that Sneaky has made the decision to stay on as an owner and take up the additional responsibilities of being an advisor at Cloud9. We’re both looking forward to the successes to come!”

Sneaky gave his thoughts on the decision on Twitter. Most notably he doesn’t see this as retirement and notes that Cloud9, specifically Jack Etienne did everything to help him.
