Leffen wins EU Smash Melee Singles at Smash Summit 10 Online – Daily Esports

William “Leffen” Hjelte won the EU Super Smash Bros. Melee Singles bracket at Smash Summit 10 Online on November 22. He only dropped two games over the course of the entire tournament.

Leffen kicked off the bracket with a convincing 3-0 win over Charles “Fuzzyness” Kimmelman. Then in Winners Quarters, he faced Elliot “Frenzy” Grossman. Frenzy proved to be quite a challenge, as he solidly won the first game of their set. However, Leffen turned it around to win the set 3-1.

Leffen had excellent performances throughout top 8 of the Smash Summit 10 EU bracket. He scored 3-0 victories against both Linus “Pipsqueak” Nordin and Álvaro “Trif” García Moral, thus advancing into Grand Finals. Finally, Leffen defeated Aaron “Professor Pro” Thomas 3-1 to win the tournament.

Professor Pro had a solid run to finish in 2nd place at the Smash Summit 10 Online EU bracket. In winners, he beat Charles-Andre “Charlon” Assus 3-0 and Isdsar Inath 3-1 before losing a five-game set to Trif. Then in the losers bracket, Professor Pro secured close 3-2 victories against “Solobattle” and Pipsqueak. In addition, he won his rematch against Trif 3-0 before falling to Leffen in Grand Finals.

Pipsqueak’s 4th place finish came with a handful of impressive and unexpected victories. He beat George “Rikzz” T. 3-2 and upset Solobattle 3-2 before dropping a set to Leffen. Afterward, Pipsqueak overcame Dominik “Nicki” Kunze in another five-game set before Professor Pro eliminated him.

Nicki fell into the losers bracket early, losing 0-3 to Frenzy in round one of the tournament. However, he pulled off a respectable losers run to finish in 5th place at the Smash Summit 10 EU bracket. Nicki eliminated Fuzzyness, Isdsar, and Niklas “Kins0” V. (who had just upset Amsah Augustuszoon one round before).
