pita out as head coach of NiP, THREAT returns

There’s a change in leadership at Ninjas in Pyjamas as the organization swaps out head coach Faruk “pita” Pita for Björn “THREAT” Pers.

THREAT had coached NiP from 2016 to 2018 before stepping away to “pursue other things in life.” During his time with the squad they picked up wins at StarSeries Season 2 Finals and IEM Oakland in 2016 as well as 2017. He returned to the organization as a strategic coach back in October 2019.

Now it seems it’s his time to return to the saddle in full capacity. The 31-year-old will be handed the reigns by pita who had been the teams coach for the last two years.

“It is with great excitement that I can finally announce my return to my old post as Head Coach for NiP CS:GO,” THREAT said in the official post to the NiP website. “After working as a developer/data scientist for two years I felt that I still had a lot of CS:GO left in me and that these two years have given me a new fresh perspective on how to approach the game. I want to thank NiP for giving me this chance to once again compete at the highest level of CS”
