Riot Games and Cisco announced Wednesday a new multi-year partnership that names the networking hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment company the “official enterprise networking partner of League of Legends Esports.”

Cisco will work with Riot Games to improve the networking performance of League of Legends esports through a variety of initiatives including building out infrastructure, providing server and other hardware upgrades, improving and managing networking capabilities across five continents and providing the server hardware that supports three global events: League of Legends World Championship, Mid-Season Invitational, and The All-Star Event.

In addition, Cisco will provide “flexible architecture” for Riot’s 12 regional broadcast centers, and help the company deploy more than 200 new tournament game servers in regional studios managed though Cisco’s new Intersight software as a service (SaaS) solution.
