Bayonetta 3 Launches October 28

Bayonetta 3 is coming October 28. A new trailer confirms the release date alongside introductions of a brand-new character that warns Bayonetta of the world-ending threat of the homunculi.

Today's trailer starts off with a lot of familiar faces, including Luka, Enzo, and Rodin who confirms that the homunculi are part human. Later, Viola walks in to confirm that the homunculi are actually bioweapons made from people. If the homunculi aren't stopped, then "reality as we know it gets wiped out."

There are also some interdimensional shenanigans going on as Bayonetta teams up with alternate versions of herself. Along with her new Demon Masquerade ability, Bayonetta is more powerful than ever, but will it be enough to save the universe?

The trailer ends with a firm release date of October 28, 2022, but that's not Bayonetta 3's only trick. Nintendo has announced a deluxe Trinity Masquerade Edition for Bayonetta 3 which includes a 200-page artbook and three sleeves for the jewel case that form panoramic artwork, so you can swap your case's style as often as Bayonetta swaps demon forms.

And for those who haven't played the original, Nintendo has also announced a physical re-release of the first Bayonetta set to launch later this year. No release date yet on this one, but stay tuned for more.

A recent rating on the Nintendo website confirms Bayonetta 3 is rated M by the ESRB and PEGI 18 for violence, blood, gore, partial nudity, strong language (Viola drops an S-bomb in the trailer) and some in-game purchases. Cosmetics most likely, but we can always hope for DLC.
