Borderlands 3 Director’s Cut Update Now Available, Adds Murder Mystery And Varkid Raid Boss
The long-awaited Director’s Cut update is now available for Borderlands 3. If you picked up the Ultimate Edition or Season Pass 2, you can download the DLC as part of your purchase. All players, however, will see the addition of two new loot machines – Crazy Earl’s Reroll and Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine.
Gearbox released an official launch trailer to coincide with the DLC’s arrival, showing off a bit of the mayhem you can get up in the new content. That includes a closer look at Hemovorous the Invincible – a monstrous new raid boss – and the “interplanetary murder mystery” mission. You can see Director’s Cut in all its glory below:
As for the new loot machines, Gearbox said these are now available to all players at no additional cost.
“Crazy Earl’s Reroll replaces the existing Anointment on a specified item in exchange for some Eridium,” reads the announcement. “Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine offers top-tier Legendary loot and will be hidden in a new location within the base game each week. It’ll be up to the Borderlands community to track it down and see what he’s got.”
But wait – there’s more! Borderlands 3 is also adding the Disciples of the Vault cosmetic packs today, available to anyone who owns the Season Pass 2 or Ultimate Edition. These provide your Vault Hunters with an alternative appearance showing who they “would have become if they’d joined the Children of the Vault.”
Borderlands 3 was recently added to PlayStation Now, giving subscribers the chance to join in on the looting and shooting. While the base game is only included with your membership, it’s a great way to test out the game before dropping cash on the Director’s Cut.
Meanwhile, the upcoming Borderlands film continues to grow its star-studded cast list, with Edgar Ramirez joining as Atlas. Also included in the cast list are Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Cate Blanchett.
Borderlands 3 is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Stadia, and PC.
