Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – Best Lachmann 556 Loadouts

Quick Links

  • Aggressive Lachmann 556 Build
  • Jack Of All Trades Lachmann 556 Build

The second weapon in the Lachmann weapon family is the Lachmann 556, a fantastic mid-range assault rifle in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Minimal recoil, clear iron sights, and great attachment options make the Lachmann 556 a solid alternative to the Kastov and M4 rifles that most players gravitate toward.

Most players use the Lachmann 556 with no attachments and perform well, yet it's when you start using attachments that this weapon becomes truly special. Today, we'll be looking at two builds for the Lachmann 556 that turn this weapon into the ultimate mid-range assault rifle for 6v6 modes and even Ground War.

MuzzleFTAC Castle CompDo not tune
Rear GripLMK64 GripDo not tune
StockFT Mobile StockTune for ADS speed

If you love running and gunning, this build is for you. We spec the Lachmann 556 toward mobility and ADS speed without butchering its recoil. We use the Lach-12 Barrel and the FT Mobile Stock to help the weapon's overall mobility and strafe speeds. We use the LMK64 Grip for faster sprint to fire times, and we use the FTAC Castle Comp and FSS OLE-V Laser to assist with the gun's accuracy. The end result is a snappy assault rifle that is a more accurate counterpart to the Lachmann Sub.

This build works well in all game types, especially 6v6. Treat the weapon similar to an M4 or Kastov 74u, getting somewhat close to your target before landing a handful of well-placed shots toward their upper chest and head. You won't beat the Lachmann Sub's mobility or the STB 556's sprint to fire times, but this build offers a great deal of flexibility for aggressive playstyles.

Our only mandatory recommendation is Fast Hands. All Lachmann weapons take quite a while to reload, so using Fast Hands to reduce your reload time is vital. The rest of your perks are down to preference, but we highly recommend Quick Fix for any aggressive playstyles. It lets you instantly recover your HP after a kill to make killstreaks much easier. Dead Silence is also a no-brainer for someone who sprints around the map frequently.

Barrel15.9'' Lachmann RAPP BATune for ADS speed
Muzzle5.56 Armor PiercingDo not tune
Rear Grip40 Round MagDo not tune

If your playstyle is more flexible, you might prefer this type of Lachmann build. We give the 556 a little bit of everything with this setup, lowering our ADS speed slightly in exchange for better range, a larger magazine, and the ability to penetrate hard surfaces with each bullet. We use the 15.9'' Lachmann RAPP BA barrel for major range buffs, FT Mobile Stock and FSS OLE-V Laser to compensate for the barrels' lower ADS times, 40 Round Mags for more firepower, and 5.56 Armor Piercing rounds to penetrate cover and deal 40% more damage to vehicles.

This build excels in all game types. While you aren't the fastest player, your lethality extends quite a distance. Mid-range duels are in your favor, mostly due to the Lachmann's absurdly low recoil. Our armor-piercing rounds allow you to fire through walls and other hard surfaces, making it quite easy to kill a weak enemy hiding behind cover.

You'll excel at mid-range, so you'll want to build around anchoring. Proximity Mines are great for locking down chokepoints, and using Trophy Systems can be handy in Hardpoint and other objective modes. Fast Hands is

useful for lowering the Lachmann's lengthy reloads, and Ghost helps with mitigating pre-aim deaths while rotating around the map.
