Call of Duty Modern Warfare Update 1.07: Gunfight loadout changes confirmed?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward has already promised that the games next big update is coming later his week, but now it seems they've responded to fans on Reddit with some more potential changes.

We'll remind you of those changes they've already confirmed further down, but the latest things to mention concerns the games Gunfight mode, Modern Warfare's inventive new 2v2 mode.

The problem, as Call of Duty experts Charlie Intel points out, is that players quickly become bored of the mode since launch.

An issue which the site attributes to a lack of variety and random weapon load-outs.

"Many are getting bored or used to the Gunfight’s current rotation of loadouts and want some different options to play through in game," writers Charlie Intel editor Keshav Bhat.

Thankfully, it seems a fix is on the horizon.

Speaking on Reddit, Infinity Ward’s multiplayer designer David Micker responded to confirm there are more varied Gunfight loadout options coming to Gunfight in the not too distant near future.

In a thread titled "The one thing Gunfight needs is weirder loadouts" Micker simply responded: "We’ll have more coming in the near future."

In addition to the above, players were also asking if the dev team intended to make the loadouts more random as well.

Again, Mickner suggested they are looking into this as well, but couldn't make any guarantees, writing:

"That’s an option that’s being worked on. Serious answer ."

As touched on previously, Infinity Ward is already preparing to roll out a new update to the game in the coming days, with changes expected to impact (and fix) a whole suite of issues with the game.

As per Infinity Ward’s senior communications manager Ashton Williams, the new update should be released in the coming days. A full message from the Infinity Ward team member reads:

"Pending any unexpected issues, we’ve got an update rolling out over the next few days that improves stability across all platforms, fixes bugs, weapon tuning, footsteps, claymores, and more.”

Williams also confirmed that “If testing goes well" the 725 shotgun should be nerfed, since it's currently broken beyond belief.

Likewise, there should be a number of bug fixes for the games spec ops mode.
