Everything You Need To Run Crysis Remastered On PC

The classic first-person shooter from Crytek has finally been remastered, appropriately named Crysis Remastered, and it appears it won’t cost gamers a small fortune to be able to check it out. In fact, details released on the Epic Games store suggest that most will be able to play with their current gaming PCs, even if they are a few years old.

To achieve the minimum recommended settings, systems will need to be able to meet the below requirements:

Crysis Remastered Minimum System Requirements

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 / AMD Ryzen 3
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 TI /AMD Radeon 470
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Hard Drive Capacity: 20GB

For a series well known for pushing hardware to its limits, these settings seem curiously low, and almost corroborate the underwhelming reception fans had for leaks that surfaced in July, showing gameplay eerily similar to the original. Hopefully, achieving or exceeding the actual recommended requirements will result in a more stunning experience. Those will take a little more horsepower, and are depicted below:

Crysis Remastered Recommended System Requirements:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-7600k or higher / AMD Ryzen 5 or higher
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 TI / AMD Radeon Vega 56
  • RAM: 12GB
  • Hard Drive Capacity: 20GB

This week, a technical trailer released comparing directly the original gameplay, and what exactly has been remastered. This is incredibly well done, and much more exciting to see as a player than the remastered trailers available to date.

In particular, the remaster places particular emphasis on a lighting system overhaul, the inclusion of ray tracing to water effects and reflections, updated 8k textures, and ray traced reflections. The release date for Crysis Remastered is now set at September 18, meaning we will soon be able to confirm for ourselves how successful the remaster is.
