Final Fantasy 14: Guide To Completing Heavensturn 2021
The New Year has arrived and so Final Fantasy 14’s Heavensturn event has returned to celebrate the Year of the Ox. This event is only on for a limited time and will finish on Monday, January 18, 2021, at 6:59 a.m. (PST), so be sure to take part before then as seasonal quests cannot be completed after the events have finished.
Heavensturn 2021 offers new quests and new rewards, such as two brand-new kabutos to add to your collection and an adorable furnishing for your room. Additionally, there are also some of the items from previous years’ events available through the Seasonal Shop.
How To Start The Event And Walkthrough
To kickstart the event, players must speak to Ushi Bugyo in Limsa Lominsa, Upper Decks at (X:11.5, Y:13.9) and accept the quest “Steering Clear of Trouble”. After speaking with Ushi Bugyo, he will ask you to participate in the level 5 FATE “The Mochi that Ate Vylbrand” in Middle La Noscea at (X:24, Y:26.3).
Successfully completing this FATE yields the usual rewards of EXP, seals, and a small amount of Gil, but more importantly it gives Heavensturn tickets, which we’ll get into later on. The amount of tickets you receive depends on your FATE rating, with a gold rating yielding 10 tickets.
After you have completed the FATE, you must return to Ushi Bugyo in Limsa Lominsa to hand in the quest, after which you can choose between the Crimson Ushi Kabuto or Black Ushi Kabuto as your reward and receive the “Happy Moo Year” achievement. Don’t worry, you can still get the other Kabuto too, as once you have completed this quest, the Far Eastern Vendor NPC called Ushi Shonin (X11.3, Y13.6) will now open her store to you, where you can spend those Heavensturn tickets. You can find her a short distance from Ushi Bugyo.
However, the event doesn’t end there. Ushi Bugyo will now offer another quest called “Bully for Mochi”. Players have to wait at four specific locations on the Upper Decks map in order to give passersby advent cakes. Once this is done, return to Ushi to receive ten Magicked Prism (Advent Cake) as a reward.
Items Purchased With Heavensturn Tickets
There are a few items that you can buy with Heavensturn tickets, most notably both kabuto head gear items, so you can buy whichever one you didn’t pick as a reward. However, the best item is the Handmade Akabeto furnishing, which is absolutely adorable.
- Crimson Ushi Kabuto — 5 tickets
- Black Ushi Kabuto — 5 tickets
- Handmade Akabeto — 3 tickets
- Zoni x10 — 1 ticket
- Magicked Prism (Advent Cake) x10 — 1 ticket
Previous Event Items
If you want to purchase any of the Kabuto head items made available during previous Heavensturn events, you can find the Recompense Officer NPC not too far from Ushi Bugyo at (X:11.3, Y:14.2) where they can be bought for various amounts of Gil.
