- Week 8 Challenges
- Week 9 Challenges
It's already week two of the newest Fortnite season, the first in the new chapter. While week one had you dashing across the island on dirt bikes and using the new Shockwave Hammer item to explore the new POIs, this week it's back to business. There is plenty of XP up for grabs with these Winterfest challenges, which will give your Battle Pass a shot in the arm.
This week also sees the return of the Reboot Rally, which asks regular players to gather together their friends who might not have played for a while. There's no XP for these challenges, however, you can unlock some great items and cosmetics as you can see from the images below. Whatever you're working on this week, grab a friend and climb aboard the battle bus.
Week Two: Winterfest Challenges
This week the challenges lean towards the Winterfest event that comes around each year to celebrate Christmas. So we have some festive challenges to complete, as well as the usual tasks such as damaging players or eliminating them. Starting with the easy challenges:
- Damaging players with an SMG is a piece of cake; SMGs are easy to find across the map, and you only have to deal 50 points of damage. You don't even need to knock down or eliminate the opponent.
- Hiding in the snowballs at Frosty Firs, Brutal Bastion and Lonely Labs is simple enough. Land at these spots and get these done early in your game.
- Super easy, this challenge requires you to check out the Winterfest Lodge and find three slices of pizza.
You'll be check the lodge every day to open the presents, so look for the pizza while you're there.
- Eliminating players with the Snowball Launcher will come down to skill, as well as a bit of luck. So it might take some time to nail this challenge. Just make sure you switch to the launcher once you've weakened the opponent.
- Landing tricks on the dirt bike isn't too difficult as you can launch them off high ground or ramps scattered across the map. Just make sure you're holding the trick button as you jump. This may be a bit of a grind as it's a multi-stage challenge, and you'll total up over 10 million points by the end.
- Dealing damage to players using the DMR shouldn't be too tricky. As with the SMG challenge above, you only need to deal damage, so a few potshots here and there will get this task going.
You might also notice that there is a challenge to earn XP in Creator Made Experiences. To beat this challenge, simply play some of the Creative Mode games. There will be new Winterfest challenges next week. We'll likely see more challenges themed around the Christmas update.
Week 5 Challenges
Fortnite Chapter 4: Season One is rolling on. Now that Christmas is over and the Winterfest is behind us, week 5 has opened up with a whole host of fresh challenges. It seems Epic Games has been kind to the community as this week's tasks are all pretty simple to complete, particularly when playing with a group of friends.
Nothing has changed on the map, but we do have a new defense item to play with, as you can see from the list of challenges. The Guardian Shield acts as a deployable shield that, when thrown down, casts out a large blue, transparent shield. The bottom two challenges this week are multi-part, but simply repeat the main task and raise the number of completions.
- Activate augments in a single match
First up, a really easy challenge. All you have to do is survive long enough to activate four augments. If you're struggling in a solo match, grab a friend and protect each other until the challenge pops up as completed. If you stick to the edges of the circle, you should be safe.
- Deal damage to opponents with bows
There is a Bow Specialist augment that will gift you with two bows. Select the Boom Bow and keep it handy. This bow deals area-of-effect damage, so you don't have to directly hit your opponent. Shoot as close as possible and let the explosion do the work for you.
- Sprint for 100 meters continuously under the effects of Slap
Thankfully Slap juice can be found across the map. Chug one of those sparkly orange drinks and start running. Try to get this done early in the match when you have more ground to cover. Or you can utilise the Slap for escaping the storm.
- Land direct hits on players with the Ex-Caliber rifle
This is possibly the trickiest challenge this week simply due to needing accuracy with your shots. If you want to knock out this challenge with ease, try it in Team Rumble where you can respawn back in if you miss a shot and get eliminated. Otherwise, play as a team with buddies and try to feed each other eliminations.
- Block shots while holding the Guardian Shield
The Guardian Shield is the newest item in Fortnite, and it has taken a lot from deployable shields in other Battle Royales. You can use it in two ways; by holding it as a normal shield, angling it to block opponent shots; or you can deploy it to block shots coming at you and your team. If you choose to deploy the shield, you will have to hold your reload button to pick it back up.
While the Guardian Shield does stop incoming bullets, it also blocks your shots, much like the bubble shield.
- Search containers while under the effects of Slap
Another challenge for consuming Slap juice, you'll need to knock back a bottle of Slap and then search any containers. This includes ammo crates, freezers, and Oathbound chests.
Week 7 Challenges
- Crack an opponent's shields or have your shields cracked
A nice, easy task for the first challenge on the list. Cracking an enemies shield is as simple as firing on someone until you see the blue number break. Of course, on the flip side, you could take fire from an opponent and let them crack you, but nobody wants to take damage and possibly lose a game.
- Restore health or shields with augments
The best augment for this challenge will be Bush Warrior, which heals you whenever you sit in a bush. This tops up both your health and shields, so you'll ace this challenge right away. You need to total 250 health or shields to complete this challenge.
- Reroll augments in different matches
When your augment menu is ready, you have the option to reroll the selections and choose from those new augments. Do this in FIVE separate matches to pop this challenge.
- Mark enemies in a single match
It's time to mark some enemies using the Falcon Scout item. This new item plays like a drone and will mark enemies for you and your squad to see. To complete this challenge, you need to mark TEN opponents. This can be tricky, but if you get the scout at the start of the match, you'll ace it.
- Restore shields to yourself or other friendly players
Another super simple challenge; this time you need to heal others in your squad. The total this time is 50, so just throw two Chug Splashes at your friends to complete this. You can also use the Chug Cannon, if you find one. The only limit on this challenge is having to play with others, but just a duo partner will count.
- Mark enemies
We're back to marking even more enemies, except this is a rolling challenge with different totals for each stage. The first stage is FIVE markings. This will increase with each stage FOUR times before you receive all your lovely XP. As with the above challenge, grab that Falcon Scout early and tag as many people as possible.
Week 8 Challenges
- Throw something
It seems Fortnite challenges are getting easier and easier during this season. For the first challenge of Week 8, all you need to do is throw something. It can be any consumable – just hold aim, while the item is selected, then press fire to throw the object.
- Throw something within 5 seconds of damaging an opponent
This one is slightly thicker, mainly because you need to remember to perform the requested action. Get into a fight with anyone, let off some damaging shots, and as soon as you've hurt them, throw a consumable wherever you choose.
- Hide in different bushes that you threw down
Deployable bushes are back! Bringing with the leafy hidey-holes is a challenge to hide inside a thrown bush. Simply collect a bush during the match, then find an out-of-the-way area. Once there, throw your bush to the ground and hide for a few seconds. Do this twice and the challenge is complete.
- Eliminate a player with no ranged weapons in your inventory, and while on foot
To complete this challenge, ignore any ranged weapons; no bows or sniper rifles. Keep them out of your inventory and then eliminate a player. Once you've done this, feel free to grab your favourite ranged weapon again. Oh, and stay on foot, you can't complete this task while in or on a vehicle.
- Use Chug Splash, Grenades, and Fireflies
More people should use grenades and fireflies, which seems to be the message this week. This is the first part of a multipart challenge. Make sure to focus on these throwables while you play, and you'll soon storm through each part, unlocking that sweet XP.
- Finish anything but first in different matches
Well, this is an odd one. It's not often a multiplayer shooter asks you to not win. But that's what you need to do. Just don't win. No matter how much you want to. This is another multipart challenge, so don't win a game, and you'll reach part two.
Week 9 Challenges
- Search Oathbound Chests
It's time to search out those fancy Oathbound chests. All you need to do is search them, but let's be honest, you're likely to get great loot while you're fulfilling this challenge. You'll need to do this five times to complete the task.
- Deploy Guardian Shields
While you're opening those Oathbound chests, keep an eye out for Guardian Shields. You'll need to deploy it – by placing it on the floor – five times to complete this challenge.
- Damage players with the Ex-Caliber Rifle
The Ex-Caliber Rifle can be a tricky weapon to master, but you'll be getting your practice here. You need to land 1,000 points of damage on opponents while using this rifle.
- Search chests with the Falcon Scout in a single match
For this challenge, you'll need to equip the Falcon Scout and search five chests in a single match. Nice and easy if you can get the Falcon early in the game and dash around a quiet area on your own.
- Collect Oathbound items
You might be noticing a theme here. For this multi-part challenge, you need to collect Oathbound items. The first part requires collecting three of them, while later challenges will need more. Pair this with the Oathbound chest challenge above.
- Hit headshots
Lastly, you need to hit your headshots. This is just shooters 101; if you're playing, you need to be hitting those head-taps. This multi-part challenge requires you to be at your most accurate.
