Fortnite server status news ahead of 9.40 update time
Epic Games has confirmed the Fortnite update time and schedule for patch 9.40, which will include the official server status going offline.
As revealed earlier this week, this new Fortnite build will be going live today and will include some important content.
Not only we will see the usual skins leaked and other such information revealed by data miners but news of the upcoming in-game event could also be discovered.
Fans are expecting a big fight to commence this weekend between a giant monster and robot, details of which will be in this upcoming update.
We don’t know how much will be uncovered by data miners but fans should be prepared for some interesting news later this week.
As ever, a new Fortnite update means server downtime, with Epic Games confirming when maintenance is scheduled to start.
Fans can expect servers to go offline at around 9am in the UK, or 1am, PST, if you live in the United States.
“The v9.40 update is closing in! Downtime begins tomorrow, July 17 at 4 AM ET (0800 UTC),” Epic Games confirmed on social media earlier this week.
According to the early patch notes, update 9.40 will introduce new versions of the Tactical Shotgun weapon.
As part of the new update, the Tactical Shotgun will now come in Epic and Legendary variants.
“Get up close and personal with the new Epic and Legendary variants of the Tactical Shotgun!” reads the in-game news feed.
The full details on everything that is changing today will be listed in the official Epic Games patch notes.
These will be released as downtime begins, meaning an update is expected at around 9am.
It should also be noted that this will be the version of Fortnite Season 9 that will be played during the World Cup.
So if any existing weapons are set to be vaulted, expect a complete breakdown on why this is happening from Epic Games.
And as confirmed when the countdown clock appeared last weekend, Epic Games will also be introducing the assets and game files for the end of season gameplay event.
The clock – which has appeared above Neo Tilted – is ticking down to the start of the event on July 20 at 7pm UK time.
When the clock strikes zero, fans can expect the giant robot and huge monster (rumoured to be named Cattus and Doggus) to do battle within the game.
It’s likely the colossal beasts will destroy certain points of interest in time for the big Season 10 map update.
However, it will also be interesting to see how far Epic Games takes this, with a big eSports event just around the corner.
