God Of War has a new illustrated storybook to teach you your alphabet

You can now teach your kids their ABC with Kratos and Atreus, although Sony’s new tie-in book is really intended for adults.

Despite what it sounds like, every part of that headline is true. Although the implication that it’s for children is really just a joke and actually it’s meant for adult fans.

Whether everyone is going to realise that we don’t know but at least it doesn’t seem to be quite as inappropriate as it might be, based on the earlier God of War game.

Apparently the book will include ‘lessons learned from Kratos’ past mistakes’, although somehow we doubt Sony want to remind anyone of that time in God Of War 3 when Kratos murdered a woman just to keep a door open.

The Amazon listing for the book describes it as a ‘delightful satirical tour through the world of the critically acclaimed game’.

It’s due for release on 1 October in the UK, for £10.55. And to be fair, as weird as the whole idea is the artwork is very nice.

Considering the way the first one ended on a cliffhanger, and given its enormous critical and commercial success, there’s obviously going to be a God Of War 2 on PlayStation 5 but it’s one game Sony hasn’t even mentioned yet.

The reboot was released in April 2018, so assuming work began relatively soon after there should be at least something to show for it by now – even if it probably won’t be released till closer to 2022.

It’s even possible Sony is holding back a reveal for their next PlayStation 5 showcase event, although when that might take place is also a mystery.
