Konami delays vital eFootball 2022 update by another month
After it’s less than stellar launch, Konami promised to have eFootball 2022 fixed by the end of the month, but the update has been delayed.
Konami’s eFootball 2022 was supposed to mark a bold new direction for the Pro Evolution Soccer series. Instead, the poor thing is a shambling shell of its former glory. It launched with so little content, poor visuals, and numerous bugs that it still feels like a rip-off despite being free-to-play.
While Konami always intended to build upon eFootball 2022 as time went on, it had to apologise for the state of the game and promised that it would prepare a new update that would fix at least some of its problems – to be released before the end of October.
Now, Konami has broken the unfortunate news that said update has been delayed until November, ‘We would like to inform all users that we have decided to delay the release of version 0.9.1 to early November.
‘We sincerely apologise for the delay and the inconvenience caused. Our hope is that the additional time taken will allow us to ensure the experience is improved for all of our users.’
The delay isn’t too long, but that’s extra time that eFootball 2022 arguably doesn’t have, especially with its main competitor, FIFA 22, available right now on all major platforms and eFootball already having gained a reputation as the lowest rated game on Steam.
It’s not impossible for the same thing to happen to eFootball 2022. But if it has fans who are willing to stick with it, then either there aren’t many of them or they’re very quiet.
eFootball 2022 is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. iOS and Android releases are expected to launch later this year.
