Mortal Kombat 11 Nightwolf release date confirmed? Kombat Pack DLC dates revealed in leak?

The Nintendo website seems to inadvertently confirm when Kombat Pack owners will be able to download Nightwolf.

Kombat Pack owners get early access to Nightwolf on 8/13 [August 13th]” reads the ad.

Now, that makes sense – but that means it’ll be practically two months since we saw the release of the last kombatant, Shang Tsung.

“Looks like it will be 1 character every 2 months,” notes reddit user CrazyKrogan. “And if that’s true (which it might not be) then the final kombat pack character will release in April 2020.

That’s interesting reading if true – considering there may yet be another couple of Kombat Packs to come (why would NetherRealm name the current one Komabt Pack 1 otherwise?), that means we could see the game get support for the better part of two years… potentially more.

It could be that we’ll be seeing more kharacters arrive sooner in the coming months, and this 2-month period we’ve seen so far is only active because the company needs a bit more time to get the game levelled out, post-launch.

However, if the information we’ve seen here is the foundation of a pattern, it means we can likely estimate the release dates for the other characters in the Kombat Pack.

The remainder of the DLC pack, which contains 6 New Upcoming DLC Playable Characters, 7 New Upcoming Exclusive Character Skins, 7 New Upcoming Sets of Gear and more, will therefore likely be rolled out on:

• August 13th (Nightwolf)
• October 14th/15th
• December 13th/14th
• February 12th/13th
• April 15th/16th

The characters we can expect to see in this time include Sindel, Spawn, Ash from the Evil Dead series, Joker and possibly Terminator – we need more confirmation from NetherRealm before we can say they are the characters coming for sure, though.

Stay tuned for more information soon.

If you need a crash course on Mortal Kombat lore, here’s a summary of the Nightwolf we know from MK9 (2011) – which we’re assuming is related to the current version.

Formerly known as Grey Cloud, Nightwolf was chosen by the Great Spirit to become the Matoka’s champion and protector.

Grey Cloud proved worthy when he laid down his life to prevent the Black Dragon from plundering what remained of his tribe’s sacred artifacts.

As Nightwolf, Grey Cloud possesses extraordinary magic granted by the Great Spirit to fight for the Matoka’s future and defend all of Earthrealm.

Expect to hear about a formal release date for Nightwolf sooner rather than later.
