Persona 3 Portable And 4 Golden Are Also Coming To PlayStation
Persona 3 Portable, 4 Golden, and 5 Royal are all headed to Xbox and PC, and the news immediately upset PlayStation fans en masse, but tame that outrage as 3 and 4 are also making their way to PlayStation 5.
"These beloved games will also be heading to Steam and PlayStation 5", the announcement stated, although there's no word on whether they'll be making their way to PS4. There's also no release date, so while they're coming, we can't say exactly when.
That still leaves the first two Persona games in limbo with many calling on Atlus to bring those up to scratch too, but for now, you can play the most modern of the five in one place. Or you can dip into Xbox Game Pass and get them as part of your subscription if you're lucky enough to have both consoles.
Persona 3 first launched back in 2006, ushering in a new era for the series that would be built on in 4 and 5—it'll be far more recognisable to fans of the newer games than 1 or 2. But it's a hard game to get your hands on. It was first released on the PS2 back in 2006, then it was ported to the PSP under Persona 3 Portable.
If you haven't played a Persona game, 3, 4, and 5 all revolve around misfit Japanese teenagers fighting demons while taking their exams. Normal Sixth Form shenanigans, really. But they're hefty investments, with each game taking around 80 to 100 hours, and they're even longer if you're a completionist.
But if you're itching for a new RPG to spend a few weeks or even months in, the Persona series is perfect for you.
