PlayStation Plus DEAL: Play January and February PS4 games for next to nothing

If you’ve got a PS4 and want to play some blockbuster games for next to nothing, then Sony has a great deal for you. As part of a surprise promotion, Sony is attempting to entice new PlayStation 4 owners to its PS Plus subscription service. But PS4 fans had better hurry, because the PlayStation Plus deal will only be around for a limited time.

If you head over to the PSN Store from now until the end of January, you can subscribe to PS Plus for just £3.49.

Representing a 50% discount on a typical one month membership, the PSN offer means you can enjoy the benefits of a PlayStation Plus subscription without shelling out the big bucks.

One month will give you just enough time to reap the rewards, without committing for a whole year.

If you activate the PlayStation Plus subscription towards the end of the month, you’ll be able to download and play both the January and February free PS4 games.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Goat Simulator are available to download for free until February 4, when they’ll be replaced by two new PS4 freebies.

The only downside is that the promotion isn’t open to current subscribers, and you’d better remember to turn off auto-renewal if you don’t want the membership to roll over.

What do I get with my PS Plus subscription?

• PS4 Online Multiplayer: whether you’re looking for opponents or teammates, PlayStation Plus allows you to enjoy PS4 games with others online

• Monthly Games: download 24 hand-picked PS4 games every year at no extra cost: yours to keep and play throughout your membership.

• Exclusive Discounts: get special offers on PlayStation Store games and add-ons.

• Online Storage: receive 100GB of cloud storage for your PS4 game saves.

Even if you don’t play many games online, PS Plus subscriptions are worth it for the monthly free games.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, for example, features upgraded versions of the first three games in the Uncharted trilogy.

This includes the excellent Uncharted 2, which is generally considered to be the best game in the series.

Goat Simulator is also something of a cult hit, earning lots of attention due to its popularity with streamers.

Some people have favourably compared it to the old Tony Hawk games, only this time the aim is to cause as much destruction as possible… and you play as a goat.
