Pokemon GO Community Day November Start Time, Shiny Chimchar and December news
The Pokemon GO Community Day is a massive event in the games monthly calendar, and the next community day is going live later today!
So if you're looking for something to do, why not grab that phone and get outside for some fresh air and excellent Pokemon GO bonuses for all playing on iPhone and Android smartphones.
Although Niantic frames the event as the perfect way for trainers to come together and meet up to play the game, it also provides (perhaps more importantly) the chance for trainers to catch some rather unique Pokemon.
In the case of this upcoming Community Event, players should find a wealth of Chimchar. the Fire-type starter from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl spawning in park areas.
But better still, if you’re lucky enough to evolve a Chimchar into Monferno and then Infernape during the event, it will learn the exclusive move, Blast Burn.
Like all Pokemon GO community days, you'll only have three hours to make the most of the event.
Pokemon GO Community Day – Start & End Times
Previously the Pokemon GO Community Day used to be held at different times around the world, but more recent Niantic changed to a must simpler system.
So for UK based players, Saturday's Community Day event is scheduled to begin at 11am in the UK lasting until 2pm in the afternoon.
This isn't all though because there are additional bonuses in effect during the event, such as Lure Modules which last for three hours during the event and reduced egg distances of just a 1/4.
So that means even the biggest 10km egg distances only require 2.5KM walking distance to hatch – and it's even less if you're using a super incubator!
So, even if you don't necessarily want to get and play in a group, there are still great reasons to ensure you're playing Pokemon Go regardless.
Niantic never confirms whether or not an event will include a shiny version of the Pokemon headlining a Community Day.
Given that so far every single Pokemon GO Community Day event to date has offered the chance to catch a shiny variant of Pokemon, we think it's pretty nailed on that there will be a Shiny Chimchar available.
For those who need reminding, a Shiny will not appear as shiny in the game until you enter the catch screen. Equally, the Pokemon which appear are random for each player.
So just because someone finds a shiny in the wild, it doesn't mean it will also be shiny for you or anyone else playing around you.
In short, keep catching Community Day Pokemon until you happen to find a shiny. It's potluck, but catching as many as possible will increase your chances!
Pokemon GO December Community Day
The Pokemon GO team will likely announce the Pokemon GO Community Day for December in the coming days.
What we would say, though, is don't worry if you can't get out today to catch Chimchar.
Thats because there's a good chance of being able to catch one next month.
The Pokemon for the December Community Day hasn't been announced, but based on what Niantic did last year – namely doing a community day featuring ALL of the Community Day Pokemon from 2018 – we wouldn't be surprised to see the same event this December.
That means you could have the chance to capture a shiny for the following Pokemon:
Totodile (12 January), Swinub (16 February), Treecko (23 March), Bagon (13 April), Torchic (19 May), Slakoth (8 June), Mudkip (21 July), Ralts (3 August), Turtwig (15 September), Trapinch (12 October) and Chimchar (16 November).
Stay tuned for more details in the coming days!
