Super Smash Bros Ultimate update 3.0: Joker and all the big Switch patch notes news

As many Super Smash Bros fans will have already known, a big new update has been released today.

This brings significant changes to the Nintendo Switch game, including a new character.

The release of Joker is one of the most noticeable changes, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only one.

Joker from Persona 5 is available as part of the new Challenger Pack 1 and Ultimate Fighters Pass.

His arrival comes as part of a wider content pack, with a new stage based on Mementos as well as music from the Persona series also included.

A total of 11 tracks from Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5 are now available and comes bundled with new modes and features.

The next major part of the update is the release of the new Stage Builder, which provides in-game tools for adding moving platforms, spinning traps and other unique features to customised stages.

And by playing in Handheld mode, budding designers can even use the touch screen to freely draw and create, and use front and back layers to decorate their stages further.

Video Editor is another feature added today, allowing for Video content to be saved to a Nintendo Switch system and then spliced together to make new timeline presentations.

Subtitles and sound effects can also be added to personalise the video, which can be exported and shared with the world through the new Smash World service.

However, it should be noted that you cannot make videos of replays that contain DLC you have not purchased (fighters, stages, music, Mii Fighter costumes, etc.).
