The Last of Us TV series casts Game of Thrones vets Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey
HBO has found its Joel and Ellie for the upcoming television series based on Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us. Pedro Pascal, star of Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian, and Bella Ramsey, best known for her role as Lyanna Mormont on Game of Thrones, will co-star in The Last of Us as Joel and Ellie, respectively. The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline first reported the news.
The Last of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann and developer Naughty Dog later confirmed the casting of Joel and Ellie on social media.
Pascal, 45, is known for his roles as Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones and Din Djarin on The Mandalorian. Ramsey, 17, has also appeared in HBO’s His Dark Materials and voices the titular character of Netflix’s animated series Hilda.
HBO has not announced a release date for The Last of Us.
The Last of Us is being adapted for television by Craig Mazin, who previously worked with HBO on the acclaimed 2019 miniseries Chernobyl.
