The Witcher 3: Complete Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch
The most unlikely Nintendo Switch rumour ever has turned out to be completely true, with the entire game on one cart.
It’s been rumoured for weeks now but as hard as it is to believe The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt really is coming to Switch and it’ll even be out this year.
How developer CD Projekt Red is going to get such a complex gaming working on the Switch is a mystery, but the short announcement trailer looked pretty convincing and we’re sure they wouldn’t do it if they thought they were going to embarrass themselves.
They’re not doing things half-cooked either, as this is the Complete Edition that includes all the DLC ever released for the game, including (excellent) expansions Hearts Of Stone and Blood And Wine.
The game is being ported to Switch by Saber Interactive, who made the recent World War Z and are doing the Ghostbusters: The Video Game remaster.
We can only assume now that Saber Interactive are staffed primarily by wizards, as the press release for the game clearly states that the game cartridge houses the entirely of Complete Edition’s content, which seems especially impossible.
The boxed version will also come with various extras, including a physical Witcher Universe compendium, game map, and stickers.
This is the first time any of CD Projekt’s games have been on Switch, with not even card game Gwent making the jump yet. It’s going to be interesting to see what their future relationship with Nintendo is going to be like, even if Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely out of the question.
