This Marvel Insurance Ad Is Like Something Straight Out Of The Boys
Normally, we wouldn't be talking about an ad for an insurance company, but we live in a world where even Marvel superheroes need to shill for those dineros. Tessa Thompson, who stars as Valkyrie in Thor: Love and Thunder, also stars in the latest advertisement from Direct Line.
The ad starts with Valkyrie jumping to solve a problem that’s perhaps a little below her pay grade. A skateboard through a storefront shop lands two skateboarders at the mercy of Valkyrie, who apprehends them both using a pair of umbrellas. The situation is eventually de-escalated when the shop owner arrives and informs Valkyrie that further violence isn’t necessary and that Direct Line will help cover the cost of a new window.

The whole ad looks straight out of the world of The Boys, where superheroes typically work for powerful international conglomerates that market and monetize their abilities. Valkyrie's powers aren't necessary in this case, so she instead takes "some time off" in Brighton where she loses a frisbee, eats a lot of fish, and smashes a carnival game.
And as a reminder, Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theaters on July 6 in Australia and much of Europe, July 7 in Canada and the UK, and July 8 in the United States.
Speaking of Thor, Microsoft is hosting an Xbox Series X giveaway, only the console is shaped like Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. The contest is running from now until July 21, and if you can buy an Xbox in your country, you're eligible to participate (although those under 18 will need permission from a parent or guardian).
Outside of Thor, Paul Rudd has finally explained why Ant-Man didn't just shrink down to crawl up Thanos' ass and destroy him with a killer case of indigestion.
"I've heard a lot of chatter out there asking why I didn't shrink down, go in, and uh, kill Thanos in a really creative way," said Rudd in a clip that aired during a Disney cruise. "First of all, gross. Secondly, it's much more complicated than that."
Sadly, we never learn just how complicated because Evangeline Lily interrupts Rudd to get him back on script, which was probably for the best.
