The leak comes from 4chan, and claims that the PS5 launch event will take place in New York on February 5.

One of the biggest rumoured features is backwards compatibility.

The alleged PS5 leak claims the next Sony console will be able to play games from throughout PlayStation’s 25 year history.

So games from the PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and even the PSP will allegedly be playable on the PS5.

It remains to be seen how the latter can be played on the PS5, and whether a special adapter will be required to insert the UMD discs.

The PS5 will also reportedly support the DualShock 4 controllers, PSVR headset as well as other PS4 accessories.

Other games that will reportedly be teased are new Horizon Zero Dawn and Spider-Man games as well as Final Fantasy 16 and a new Resident Evil.

New IPs from Naughty Dog, SIE Japan and London Studio will also allegedly be unveiled at the PS5 event.

The 4chan leak claims the PS5 will launch in October 2020 and will be priced at £449.

The PS5 will also allegedly be priced in between the two rumoured next-gen Xbox models.

It’s believed Microsoft will follow a similar tact as they did this gen by having two next-gen Xboxes akin to the Xbox One X and Xbox One S.

The more powerful model will reportedly be $100 more than the PS5 while the less powerful model will be $100 less than the PlayStation 5.

As always with leaks it’s best to take them with a pinch of salt until official confirmation.
