One of the site’s biggest creators, PewDiePie, makes an eye-watering amount of money from posting videos, streaming while he plays games and selling merchandise.
And as the single most-subscribed channel on YouTube, PewDiePie's net worth shows there is a lot of money to be earned on the website.
But last year Felix Kjellberg announced he would be taking some time off in 2020.
Many can’t afford to take unpaid time off their work, but Felix could actually live a comfortable life with just the earnings from 2019.

The Swedish internet celebrity is worth $40million (£30.3million) according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Last year we revealed how he earns a massive $6.8million from selling merchandise a month, in addition to $1.13million from ads, according to purplemoonpromo.co.uk.
Felix made a whopping £54,120,833 from ads and merch in 2019, according to research from online marketplace OnBuy.com.
In September alone, the Swede earned an eye-watering £6,998,773.
This was the same month he took on Minecraft on his gaming channel.
He also received his 100 million YouTube subscriptions reward.

August was Felix’s second most successful month, and was also the same time he got married to Marzia Bisogning.
His least successful month was November, but he still earned a cool £2,967,364.
Speaking of his plans in 2020, Felix said: “I’m taking [a] break from YouTube next year. I wanted to say it in advance because I made up my mind.
“I’m tired. I’m tired. I’m very tired.”
Felix has been uploading videos every day for years, and his 100 million subscribers in August 2019.
