Borderlands 3 May Not Add New Vault Hunters in DLC
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has said that Borderlands 3 may not add new Vault Hunters to the game in post-launch DLC.
Talking to a fan on Twitter, who asked if there will be DLC hunters, Pitchford said “My feelings are that it might be better for us to put our time into expanding what the existing vault hunters can do and how interesting their future growth is instead of adding new ones to start over with.”
Borderlands 2 introduced Gaige the Mechromancer and Krieg the Psycho as DLC characters, while The Pre-Sequel made fan favourite villain Handsome Jack playable (well, sort of. He’s a doppelganger.) While all of these characters have gone down well with Borderlands fans, it seems that the plan, at least for now, is for the new game to stick with Amara, Zane, Fl4k, and Moze. The idea of them getting addition skill trees in DLC is a tempting one, though.
