Xur’s inventory caps out at 681 if you’re 700. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces. We’ve highlighted any great rolls below.
The Colony
The Colony is a new grenade launcher introduced in the Curse of Osiris expansion. Its exotic perk, Insectoid Robot Grenades, causes missed shots to turn into little robots that track down nearby enemies. Its secondary perk, Serve the Colony, automatically reloads the clip if the weapon is stowed for a short period of time.
This gun is extremely fun to use and packs a punch in PvP. Like Sweet Business, Coldheart and a few other weapons in Destiny 2, The Colony really feels like it earns its exotic title. It’s unique and a blast to carry around with you on a regular basis. No matter what you enjoy doing in Destiny 2, Legendary Shards spent on The Colony will be Shards well spent.
Young Ahamkara’s Spine
Young Ahamkara’s Spine is fairly unremarkable as far as exotics go. Its main perk, Wish-Dragon Teeth, increases the length and blast radius of your tripmine grenades and returns energy to your grenade slot when you damage enemies with abilities. This is situational at best in PvP and almost useless in PvE. A situational PvP exotic doesn’t cut it when Hunters already have very good PvP catchalls like the Foetracer helmet. If you’re trying collect all of the exotics and you’re missing these, Young Ahamkara’s Spine is for you. Otherwise, you’ve no reason to waste your Legendary Shards.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Fusion rifle loader, hand cannon loader, Impact Induction (melee attacks reduce grenade cooldown)
Slot 2: Sniper rifle scavenger, machine gun scavenger
Should I buy this roll?
Yes
Best Hunter Exotic armor in Destiny 2
Mask of the Quiet One
Mask of the Quiet One is a decent Exotic in both PvP and PvE. Its Exotic perk, Dreaded Visage, grants energy for your grenade, melee and class ability each time you take damage. Even better, kills with void abilities instantly trigger your health regeneration. While this helmet is best used with Sentinel, you’ll get the extra energy on damage regardless of your subclass. If you’re going to be taking a lot of damage (which you will be in most activities), this is a great Exotic.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Fusion rifle targeting, hand cannon targeting, Hands-on (melee kills grant Super energy)
Slot 2: Sniper rifle reserves, machine gun reserves
Should I buy this roll?
Yes

Eye of Another World
You may already have Eye of Another World if you selected it from Sloane right before the Utopia campaign mission. The Cerebral Uplink perk will highlight targets for you and passively increase the regeneration of your grenade, melee and Rift abilities. It’s certainly worth picking up if you don’t have it yet.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Fusion rifle targeting, hand cannon targeting, Hands-on (melee kills grant Super energy)
Slot 2: Sniper rifle reserves, machine gun reserves
Should I buy this roll?
Yes
Invitation
This item starts the Invitation of the Nine quest. This week, Xur offers The Hanged Man. It’ll cost you nine Legendary Shards.
