Ghost Recon Wildlands adds two free missions starring Jon Bernthal

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands gets two new missions and a free-play weekend on all platforms beginning tonight, Ubisoft announced. The new missions, Operation Oracle, star Jon Bernthal of The Punisher and AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Bernthal is Cole D. Walker, a “Ghost Team Leader on the hunt for the truth,” in the two-mission package. The game’s official blog notes, rather portentously, that “what you will discover here might very well set the scene for the future.”

The operation starts out as a rescue mission for a Skell Tech engineer who has fallen into the hands of Unidad, the bad guys in the Bolivian military. “However, this typical rescue mission will soon turn into something much bigger,” Ubisoft said in a statement.

Operation Oracle is automatically available if you’ve finished the first mission in Ghost Recon Wildlands. The mission start is in Montuyoc province on the tactical map. Finishing the operation unlocks two goodies: the executioner close-quarters-combat finisher, and Walker’s Ghost tattoo. A Walker costume will be offered through the Ubisoft Club at a later date.

As for the free-play weekend, that starts today at 11 p.m. PDT (2 a.m. Friday, EDT) and lasts to 11 a.m. PDT on Monday, May 5. Players may pre-load the client for PC via Uplay and on PlayStation 4 right now. All progress will carry over for those who want to buy the game and continue playing. Ubisoft has more details here.
