Sony Announces Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted
Sony announced Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted during PlayStation’s State of Play live stream Monday.
The frightening fan series will be back in full VR experience for PSVR. Players will try and survive in both original levels, along with brand new ones.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is a survival-horror game where the original 2014 game focused on players surviving through five nights in Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria. The franchise has had six main titles, with numerous spinoffs and other media.
In the new PSVR version, players will reportedly hold the role of a technician who is tasked with repairing animatronics. The game is in first-person perspective, and players need to navigate through dark hallways and solve puzzles while staying alive from any terrifying and malicious animatronics.
Sony said the game will be coming sometime in Spring 2019.
Creator of the franchise, Scott Cawthon, received hate comments back in 2015 in regards to his fourth installment in the series. He responded to fans saying he did his best, “to provide some good scares and a good story.”
We found out last November that a Five Nights at Freddy’s film that was currently in the works, had its script tossed out due to creative differences with Cawthorn, producer Jason Blum and director Chris Columbus.
Cawthon stated, “It’s been a real challenge for everyone, including myself, to come up with a good screenplay for this. But I’m determined to find the right story. I’m sticking to what I’ve always said, either the right movie gets made or no movie gets made.”
Stay tuned to IGN for when the release date of Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted is announced, and let us know in the comments if you’ll be picking up this new installment in the FNAF world.
