Team Sonic Racing Beginner’s Guide for finishing in first

Speed racers can deflect incoming weapon attacks, while Tech racers are able to navigate off-track terrain without slowing down. Meanwhile Power racers will generally get more offensive weapons from Wisp item boxes and can also smash through objects.

You shouldn’t spend too much time fretting over the raw stats for each available character, vehicle, and loadout selection. Whether you put more points into top speed, acceleration, or defence won’t be all that noticeable when out on the track.

As touched on before, Team Sonic Racing wants you and your karting cohorts to work together. You’ll get more boosts and better items if you stay near your two allied racers and share boxes with them.

Not only that, all team actions will fill your ultimate meter. This can be activating to trigger a prolonged burst in speed while also making you invulnerable, spinning out any opponents you manage to clip.

Our advice is to use your ultimate carefully, at least towards the end of the singleplayer world tour races. The AI has a penchant for rubber banding, bunching together until that final stretch.

You can consistently bag easy wins by exploiting their predictable behaviour, unleashing your ultimate in those closing moments to ensure a victory pretty much every time. Unless you happen to be lagging way behind, of course.

These tips should help you get off the starting line. Of course, playing online against others will introduce more of a challenge, forcing you to change up your tactics.
