The Division 2: How to level up fast and reach level 30 in The Division 2
Blitz the main story, but leave some side missions
Main missions offer the largest XP payout and are the quickest way to progress through The Division 2. The fact that you can hop from one to the next, also using the game’s co-op matchmaking can help speed up the process further.
Where these offer a set amount of XP, side missions work a little differently so it’s worth taking note.
Upon completing a side mission, they’ll dish out 33% of your current XP bar, regardless of whether your level 9 or 29.
So, it may be worth holding off on some of these mission as you start to approach level 30. as it may save you from having to grind.
Also, if your current XP bar is clearly over 66% full, you may want to avoid wasting a side mission until after you level up. Instead of being added to your next level, any leftover XP is discarded.
Projects and public activities
Freeroaming in Washington DC may not be the fastest proven method to hit level 30 but it’s an essential part of playing The Division 2, unlocking SHD Tech, crafting schematics, and travel points which, in turn, can be a great help.
It also presents an opportunity to quickly hoover up some XP if you plan accordingly. By playing with friends or organising a group through the matchmaking menu, you can string together a chain of activities dotted around the map, steamrolling your way through each district.
You should plan these excursions with Projects in mind. These are requests from nearby settlements that often require you to complete a small number of activities while donating some of your unwanted gear.
As a rule of thumb, try and keep at least 3 of each armour types (mask, backpack, knee holster etc.) either in your inventory or stash so you can immediately donate them whenever there’s a new project.
