Purple Fortnite Xbox bundle headlines E3 deals next week

Microsoft announced its E3 deals and discounts this week, spanning the usual inducements for hardware and tossing in the names of several current releases on a list of discounted games. The deals take effect on June 7.

For starters, the Xbox One X will be marked down $100 (to $399) from Microsoft itself (via xbox.com or the Microsoft Store) and participating retailers. “Deals may vary,” says Microsoft, so be sure to check individual listings.

The Xbox One X is regularly the recipient of a $399 price tag/$100 off deal, most recently in the April spring sale. It’s not the only piece of hardware up for grabs. There is a new Xbox One S Fortnite Battle Royale special edition bundle (1 TB hard drive) going for $299.99. Although Fortnite is, of course, free-to-play, it packs in extra cosmetics and 2,000 V-Bucks. The console and controller are also purple.

The new, disc-less Xbox One S All-Digital Edition (which launched May 7) is also $50 off, to $199.99, on June 7. Other Xbox One S bundles are also $50 off, and controllers are $10 off. The controller discount also drops the price of a custom-made Xbox Design Lab controller to $64.99 (for a limited time only).

For software discounts, Xbox Wire mentioned several popular current games, and Anthem. The announcement said that savings of up to 75 percent will be offered on titles like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, NBA 2K19, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 (the Spectre Rising Edition that includes a bunch of extra content, giving players a customization boost). Again, check local listings.
