Xbox Series X’s FPS Boost now supports Titanfall, Battlefield 5, Star Wars Battlefront 2
Titanfall 2, Battlefield 5, and 11 other Electronic Arts titles for Xbox One now support the Xbox Series X’s FPS Boost option, increasing performance to 120 frames per second for all but one of them.
Microsoft announced the new batch of supported games on Thursday. They include both Titanfalls and Star Wars Battlefronts, the three most recent Battlefields, all three games in the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare subseries, and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. All are available in the EA Play library, which is included with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
The only game that doesn’t support 120 fps on Xbox Series X is Sea of Solitude, which is now at 60 fps. In addition, five of the 13 games don’t support FPS Boost on Xbox Series S.
FPS Boost, which can double or quadruple the original game’s frame rate, rolled out in February with five titles initially supported. Microsoft had been touting the capability as far back as May 2020, in the early marketing rollout for Xbox Series X’s backward compatibility.
In March, five Bethesda Softworks games joined the FPS Boost lineup. The list of fps-boosted backward-compatible games is now at 23 — you can see them all on Major Nelson’s website — and Microsoft expects to add more later. To be sure you have the feature toggled on (or off), this video shows where that setting lives in the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S’s menu.
